I am submitting this comment in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure.
I am responding from the perspective of a patient. I am currently 75. Around 2011 I experienced tinnitus in my right ear only. I consulted an ear, nose, and throat doctor, who sent me for an MRI. He said that one sided hearing loss could be caused by a tumor. The MRI revealed that I had an acoustic neuroma. These tumors are usually benign, but if they grow, they can require invasive surgery which can result in hearing loss, facial paralysis, and more. These tumors take up to 10 years to form. I started using a cell phone around 2001. From the beginning, I believed that my tumor was caused by cell phone use. I'm right handed, its my right ear, and I held my phone up to that ear for long periods of time talking to people long distance with that phone. I was unaware of the radiation coming from cell phones.
At first I had an MRI with contrast yearly for 7 years. That contrast was gadolinium which is a heavy metal. I now regret complying with that requirement because of the possible health ramifications from heavy metals. Current medical research indicates that the contrast is not required for MRIs of acoustic neuromas and my current doctor agrees. Initially, it was very frightening to have a tumor in my head and I experienced anxiety about the possibility that invasive surgery might be required.
When my tumor was diagnosed, the medical literature did not show a relationship between acoustic neuroma and cell phone use, but it does now. Initially, my doctor did not attribute the tumor to cell phone use. My current doctor does. Yet, the general public continues to use these phones and to give them to their children to use with little understanding of the possible health consequences. Now I often tell people about my tumor and the fact that research has proven that they are caused by cell phone radiation. The public needs to know this and our government needs to protect American citizens from this danger, especially vulnerable children. I do as much as I can to avoid exposure to radiation which is very difficult in a world where 5G is everywhere, xrays are often recommended, smart meters are forced on American citizens, etc.
I was an academic librarian when I started to lose the hearing in my right ear. That loss affected my ability to hear students who asked questions at the reference desk and to hear students during my presentations to classes. I have difficulty hearing people speak when there is a great deal of background noise and this affects my relationships and ability to communicate. I must position myself with my good ear closest to the person speaking in many situations in order to hear conversation. Sometimes I stop trying to hear.
Fortunately, as soon as I stopped holding the phone up to my ear, my tumor stopped growing. I have been watching and waiting for years now. My doctor believes that my tumor will not grow and I can avoid surgery. Others are not so lucky. I have seen patients at support group meetings who have experienced facial paralysis as a result of their surgery.
I object to being exposed to more and more unchecked radiation in the world that we live in and believe that it is unconscionable that our government has not protected its citizens from this danger. Data centers are springing up everywhere exposing the public to more and more technology and radiation. Technology companies should have to prove that their products are safe prior to putting them on the market. Instead, citizens are injured and must prove that the technology caused their injury. How many of those children now using cell phones will have tumors like mine in 10 years or cancerous tumors as a result of cell phone radiation?
Therefore, I wholeheartedly support HHS taking an active role in examining the potential health and environmental effects of wireless radiation. Questions about human health should be addressed by federal agencies with appropriate expertise in medicine, biology, epidemiology, and public health, and the experiences of individuals and families who report being affected should be considered alongside the scientific evidence.
I urge HHS to carefully evaluate these experiences and the scientific evidence, identify gaps in current research, give particular attention to children and other potentially vulnerable populations, and establish appropriate federal research priorities regarding wireless radiation and public health.
Thank you for providing individuals and families with an opportunity to be heard. I am very lucky that my tumor has only taken my hearing in one ear and has stopped growing. Others will continue to experience these tumors until the health of American citizens is prioritized and companies are required to prove that their products are safe before they can sell them.

My close friend’s husband has been fighting testicular cancer believed to be a result of exposure from a cellphone’s wireless radiation. I believe HHS should address this issue.
I support HHS taking an active role in examining the potential health and environmental effects of wireless radiation. Questions about human health should be addressed by federal agencies with appropriate expertise in medicine, biology, epidemiology, and public health, and the experiences of individuals and families who report being affected should be considered alongside the scientific evidence.

I'm a chiropractor. A while back a couple I had been treating started devloping odd symptoms that did not fit their previous patterns. A huge cell tower had been put up about a hundred yeards from their house. I begged them to move but it kept being put off. She developed atrial tribulation and he died of multiple myeloma. PLUS – each neighbor next to them died of cancer along with their dogs, also of cancer. I commonly see insomnia, headaches and agitation with patients exposed to high wi-fi microwave radiation. I surmise that microwave radiation increases inflammation throughout the body and some people can handle it better than others depending upon many factors. Personally I have a meter to measure wi-fi and do not spend any time in high radiation. Consequently I am much less social than I used to be, not going to restaurants, concerts etc. The health effects of microwave radiation need to be QUANTIFIED!!!! so people can know and regulate what they are dealing with. The proliferation of microwave without adequate investigation is CRIMINAL!!! FCC and government malfeasance is KILLING people!
I have had and am still having so much sensitivity to EMF's and it has disabled me. I started working in a county office in Coconino County AZ, where we had a cell phone tower dressed up to look like a pine tree. It was at the end of the parking lot from where I sat at my desk. I did not feel the radiation while working there but believe that this is what over sensitized me, starting my condition of EMF hypersensitivity. I gradually became more and more sensitive to EMF's from 2013 onwards until I was unable to tolerate being around electricity in general. Radio frequencies, including cell phones, cell phone towers, wifi routers, blue tooth, etc all are very uncomfortable and even cause me physical pain. I was homeless for quite a while because I was unable to tolerate living in a house with even electricity, as the electric and magnetic fields from those became unbearable to me as well. (While I was living in Tucson AZ, it had become really bad as we had a cell phone tower installed at the top of our street as well as one down at the bottom of our neighborhood. And also had our house encircled with people with solar instillations which also put off a high dirty electricity filed, and then we had 5G put down our alley, smart meters on every house, and I then was unable to tolerate living there. During this time several of my older neighbors began falling more often and eventually one broke their hip and the others mild dementia became severe, the one who broke their hip passed away from complications, and then the one with mild dementia who became severe needed to live in a care facility and passed away quickly. My mom had several heart attacks after their putting in the increased radio frequency generating devices, I had neurological issues that started during that time period and we disabling, as well as several others in my neighborhood had neurological issues begin and many had heart related conditions with another on my street passing away within months of the "upgrade". I can still feel radio frequencies and I find myself turning my head and looking at them as I pass by cell /data towers, not intentionally, it is just something that happens. I eventually built a tiny house out of a shipping container as a faraday cage to be able to handle living in their new modern environment with supposed "high tech" surroundings, towers, wifi etc everywhere. And at least now I have a safe place to live that doesn't hurt my body. I also back in 2017 had developed a breast tumor and cancer in my right breast because I always had my cell phone resting in that area tucked into my breast pocket. And then I started to learn and understand how dangerous that was, and now keep it in airplane mode every night and keep it away from my body at all times as to not be irradiated. These things are not safe and they are destroying our health. We used to be afraid of the higher SAR ratings that cell phones had when they were first coming out but now they have been deemed "safe" and in doing so people give them to their little children, and keep them in their pockets, and hold them directly against their heads unaware of the dangers of radio frequencies and in doing so are creating tremendous health consequences. Oh my goodness, I almost forgot to tell you that my sister Jennifer, has had a brain tumor that she had to have operated on that grew as a result of her having her phone against her head all the time for years and that was before they became as powerful as they are currently. I hope you are able to bring more awareness and reform to this issue and bring more safety to others so that we don't end up sterilizing our next generations. And for people like myself so we can be out in public more without ending up in pain.
I am a medical doctor, mother and health advocate, who is personally mal-effected by the wireless EMR. Two years ago, our city's Jazz Fest made it a wireless festival for every transaction for the first time. The fairgrounds of the festival are surrounded by adjacent cell towers near attendees and musical acts. Furthermore, the majority of the crowd had on wireless devices for purchases, tickets, recordings, and connecting. After two days of attending, I could no longer remember simple words. I had not consumed drugs or alcohol. Upon returning to our wired home, I could not quiet my nervous system. Although normally very coordinated, I flipped over the dog in the middle of the night and suffered a large head injury. In the roughly 35 previous years of attending this festival, afterwards I felt fine and healthy. Until the Jazz Fest protects its participators and musicians, I will not return. // We seek places to stay allowing unplugging of all wireless technology, so we can sleep. (The wireless devices stimulate the pineal gland and one cannot go into good circadian rhythms.) // Traveling in recently made vehicles and planes makes me have gastric and neurologic symptoms. A recent trip days ago, revealed extremely elevated readings of 2.1 million milliwatts / m 2 on the plane and 3.4 million milliwatts / m 2 at the terminal. (Normal or safe inside readings should be <10 milliwatts / m 2.) // Our city's downtown has a 5 G tower of every few blocks. Recently, a reading of 80,000 milliwatts / m 2 was what I measured across the street from a typical tower. I used to enjoy exploring our city's historical districts. Now, my paths are limited by the presences of towers, which again cause me gastric and neurologic issues. // My husband and I have noticed that when traveling through cities with an elevated highway through downtown with the extreme amount of towers, we are frequently very irritable. Again, we have changed our itinerary to avoid the cities and feel fine on routes without towers. // HHS needs to protect our country's citizens. As a medical doctor who studies the multiple studies of the breakdown of the blood brain barrier, blocking of the cell's many calcium channels, the interference of proper mitochondrial (the powerhouse of cells) function, unravelling of DNA, cancer, behavioral issues, etc. from the wireless, I recognize the effects and know how to protect myself and my family. Please, examine this industry with total transparency and meticulously, then make changes accordingly.

There are hidden things about RF and EMF that are detrimental to our health and for sure I don’t trust the regulators, they are bought with lots of money to keep the bad behind closed doors.
How about telling us the truth and find safety mechanisms for us and our children, animals and our land.
Not all inventions are brilliant. I will not buy an electric car for health and environmental reasons.
Please make it all safe for all of us.
I don’t even use a microwave. I suppose I read too many good articles to be aware of the bad out there.

We all know someone that lives out in the country because they could not be exposed to 4G. With 5G and all these satellites, there is no escaping these issues. I have had a brother die from brain cancer, and I recently had a brain tumor removed. What does the data say? Can we publish it? Let's use the H in HHS to include PUBLIC HEALTH and stop the push to see who dies first.
Please, make the FCC take on the health challenges that are before us. We've already experienced many deaths and illnesses from over exposures to wireless radiation. Our children and our futures are at stake. If the FCC cannot follow court orders than the HHS could take up this cause. We are sitting in massive amounts of RF radiation due to the grid/satellites/cell infrastructure/cell phones/baby monitors/ wireless health devices/ Wi-fi and many others. The manufacturers are completely out of control and setting more and more dangerous standards. The most vulnerable in our society are in harms way. Our medical system is not addressing this issue and many are suffering without the cause. This will not only destroy our medical system with tremendous amounts predictable cancers. Needlessly I may say. This will be the 'Wireless Holocaust" if not stopped.
I have an acoustic neuroma for to 5G radiation. My head pain started while watching the towers go up around me. My neighbour who shared a common wall has exactly the same thing. Six hours of neurosurgery and 90 mins of gamma knife radiation, I still have it but hopefully the cells are no longer active. I had a terrible few years of suffering and pain. These need to go worldwide!! They're all over and harming kids, adults and animals. I can't sleep when I'm near one and start shaking and having neurological issues. Hear pain, nausea, dizziness, brain fog and general malaise. Just awful.
Wireless radiation has defined my existence and my families existence for at least the last 11 years. When we started noticing symptoms that turned off an on with exposure to wireless radiation we had to stop using electricity because it was provided only via a smart type meter which put out levels of radiation which prevented me from sleeping and from being within the house with out abdominal pain and cramping and head pain. My three children also experienced knee pain as well as various pains. The exposure we received from being in a social setting due to most people carrying cell phones and nearby cell phone towers made every social experience one that had swift and severe health consequences. Sometimes it would be effecting me for days after a several hour exposure. My employment possibilities were severely impacted, as was my social life and where I could live or travel! I am so disgusted with the lack of honer given to the thousands of studies that demonstrate the impacts to all life forms from wireless radiation. It is currently classified as a Class B probable Carcinogen, but that "Probable" designation is just to keep us from drawing the definite conclusions that science shows in relation to the increase of health outcomes especially since 2015 or so when most people started carrying a cellphone daily.
