Since the electric company installed a smart meter on my neighbor's garage, I am no longer able to sit on the couch in my living room without feeling dizzy and getting a headache. The neighbor's smart meter is aimed directly at my living room couch.

A self-described veteran with radiation training requests updated exposure limits beyond heating criteria…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am a Vietnam Era Veteran who was trained in NBC Warfare (Nuclear, Biological & Chemical), Radiation Detection and Radiation Decontamination at the Seal Beach Naval Weapons Depot in 1970 and since that time I have been greatly concerned about the effects of both ionizing and non-ionizing radiation on human beings. Dr. John Gofman, who wrote Radiation and Human Health among many other books, shares my concerns. Human beings need to lower our overall exposures to all bands of non-ionizing radiation and ionizing radiation emissions. We should also educate all people regarding the dangers. People should own various radiation detection devices in order to easily monitor exposures. The "safe limits" of exposures, created by government and industry, needs to be updated and made more truthful to help people understand the true dangers. The heating up of human flesh is really only one of many kinds of criteria needed to establish safety and many of those other criteria are ignored, which is a crime against humanity. Young children and pregnant women are especially subject to higher risks of injury and need more protection. There needs to be much more public discussions about these matters.

A wellness-sector submission supports independent research, accessible public data and study of cumulativ…

RE: Request for Information (RFI) on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure Docket No: HHS-2026-19252 To the Department of Health and Human Services, As a resource in the consumer wellness and holistic health space, we are submitting this response to express support for a formal Request for Information. In our day-to-day work engaging with health-conscious individuals and community members, we observe a significant and growing consumer demand for clear, objective, and transparent data regarding daily environmental exposures. Evaluating the realities of cumulative, real-world exposure over time is critical. Today’s consumers live in environments vastly different from those of past decades, interacting continuously with cell phones, Wi-Fi networks, smart infrastructure, and emerging wireless technologies. Our community members express a persistent desire to make informed, proactive lifestyle decisions. However, they are frequently met with conflicting public reports and a lack of accessible, independent scientific consensus regarding long-term, non-thermal exposures. The following priorities should remain central to any federal inquiry: * Prioritizing Independent Research: Funding and elevating rigorous, independent scientific studies that distinguish verified science from emerging findings without commercial or industrial bias. * Accessible Public Data: Translating complex data into clear, accessible guidelines so that everyday citizens, parents, and community members can accurately evaluate real-world exposure metrics. * Focus on Cumulative Impact: Thoroughly investigating the long-term impact of multi-device exposures on developing children and sensitive demographics to ensure public safety margins are genuinely protective. Providing the public with transparent answers and robust, independent data is essential for individual health and well-being. We look forward to seeing the objective findings of this inquiry made fully transparent to the American public. Respectfully submitted, Growing Healing LLC Team

Expresses concern about increasing wireless exposure and supports HHS review of scientific evidence and r…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am submitting this comment in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure. I am responding from the perspective of a concerned member of the public. I support people affected by wireless radiation and I believe this problem will get worse going forward. I'm 64, and during my life I've seen an alarming increases in the use of wireless devices. Therefore, I have concerns surrounding the public’s ever-increasing exposures to RF radiation. Please thoroughly examine the evidence, and listen to people who report experiencing RF radiation-related health effects. I support HHS taking an active role in examining the potential health and environmental effects of wireless radiation. Questions about human health should be addressed by federal agencies with appropriate expertise in medicine, biology, epidemiology, and public health, and the experiences of individuals and families who report being affected should be considered alongside the scientific evidence. I urge HHS to carefully evaluate these experiences and the scientific evidence, identify gaps in current research, give particular attention to children and other potentially vulnerable populations, and establish appropriate federal research priorities regarding wireless radiation and public health. Thank you for providing individuals and families with an opportunity to be heard.

A self-described physician reports visual episodes and a spouse’s AFib while living above 24 smart meters…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am a physician, and I am sharing what happened to my husband Henry and me when we lived in a condo directly above a room containing 24 smart meters. We moved there because it was right next to my mother. We thought, wow, this is great. Within what I remember as a couple of months, I began seeing flashes of light across my field of vision. They lasted about 20 minutes at a time, and they were horrifying. I had no idea what was happening. Years later, I learned these episodes were called scotomas. Henry already had a history of heart problems. While we were living there, he developed AFib and was hospitalized for cardioversion. With both of these things happening, a friend suggested we have someone assess electromagnetic exposures in our condo. That was when we learned about the smart meters below us. The assessor’s July 30, 2016 report recorded radiofrequency peaks of 7,000 µW/m² at our living room couch and 5,300 µW/m² in Henry’s office. He reported detecting pulses from the smart meter room in the office. The report also identified other wireless sources in and around the condo. We moved out as quickly as we could and got a meter of our own. Ten years later, I still occasionally have those visual episodes. I cannot say from this assessment what caused Henry’s AFib or my symptoms. I can tell you when they appeared, what was measured in our home, and how deeply the experience affected us. Henry went on to earn three certifications through the Building Biology Institute and became an Electromagnetic Radiation Specialist. As a physician, I now care for patients who are sensitive to electromagnetic exposures. People can live directly above a bank of smart meters without even knowing it. We did. I hope HHS will study what exposure is like inside homes in that situation, especially over time, and take the experiences of the people living there seriously.

Reports longstanding insomnia and perceived improvement after switching off wireless equipment at night o…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am submitting this comment in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure. I am responding from the perspective of my own experience. Six months ago, I had been having trouble sleeping through the night. No matter what supplements or calming medicine I took, I would often wake up feeling very alert and I could lay there for hours trying to get back to sleep, and if I did it would only last about an hour and I would wake up again; I felt highly stimulated and could not relax - I could not figure out what was going on. This had been going on for many years. One of my physicians suggested that I might be sensitive to wireless radiation and suggested that I turn off the wireless at night. I began doing that and immediately I felt differently. I did not have that stimulated feeling (like I wanted to get up and move around). If I sleep anywhere where I cannot turn off the wireless, I have trouble relaxing and sleeping. As soon as I come home and turn off the wireless at night, I sleep well. I am not a scientific researcher, but I am well aware that there are many, many studies that prove that wireless radiation can adversely affect your health. We have so much chronic disease in this country and deep sleep is essential for good health - there are no exceptions to that. HHS should address this issue; they are very concerned about chronic health and I believe the wireless radiation is one more huge stress on the body that keeps the body from healing and good health. You cannot be healthy when you are constantly stimulated in "fight and flight" mode and can't get good sleep where your body repairs itself. Those who profit from wireless radiation must not be allowed to harm the entire population. A physically sick society cannot create a healthy, thriving nation. It just won't happen. The government must understand that. Thank you for providing individuals and families with an opportunity to be heard.

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am submitting this comment in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure. I am responding from the perspective of a patient's wife. My husband who has led a healthy lifestyle - not overweight, no smoking or drinking, dances twice a week, very active, got a malignant tumor at the top of his stomach about to enter the esophagus, so he just had his stomach removed, the protocol for this cancer. Why we suspect EMF...A year ago in July we had the wifi increased in our backhouse where my husband offices. He went to the doctor in August for his regular check up. All was well. THEN, 6 months later he has a tumor! A friend has a device that measures EMF and in front of his computer it registered off the charts. We moved some items to a more distant outlet and unplugged his computer and the device measured much lower. We cannot fathom another cause for this "out of the blue" tumor. He has now lost 20 pounds and can only eat small meals throughout the day.
