I am submitting this comment in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure. I am responding from the perspective of a concerned member of the public. Back in 2014 a bank of 7 wireless electric smart meters were installed in the condo building where I lived at the time. The same day they were installed I began experiencing vertigo and balance problems. As time went on I experienced brain fog and pressure in my head. The symptoms were bad enough that I was forced to vacate my unit and move back in with my mom for about a year until I was able to sell my condo and purchase a single family home free from smart meters. There are scientific studies that show that EMF's can act via Voltage-Gated Calcium Channels (VGCC's) to cause adverse biological effects. Please investigate the research published by Dr. Martin Pall. Also, the Bioinitiative Report (first published in 2012 and updated since) provides a rationale for Biologically based Exposure Standards for Electromagnetic Radiation. I support HHS taking an active role in examining the health and environmental effects of wireless radiation. Questions about human health should be addressed by federal agencies with appropriate expertise in medicine, biology, epidemiology, and public health, and the experiences of individuals and families who report being affected should be considered alongside the scientific evidence.
