I am submitting this comment in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure. I am responding from the perspective of a concerned member of the public.
When we have our home wireless internet on all night, I don't sleep well. My sleep is fractured and I wake not feeling rested. What is going on? I can turn off my wi-fi at night, but during the day at work, I'm exposed constantly. What will be long-term effects on my health of such exposure? Your administration can be the first to conduct research into this question and inform people of the findings. If it turns out that this technology is harmful, this doesn't mean that we can't use the technology - it only means probably limiting its use (perhaps especially around children) and giving people proper informed consent, as we currently do with tobacco products or alcohol - they're available for the adults who want them, and people have been informed of the risks. Right now, we're all flying blindly and sharing anecdotes.
Thank you for looking into this issue.
