I began to notice the effect of RF/MW radiation in 2018. The most noticeable was from cell towers - if near one, I was sick within five minutes, headache, nausea, flu-like symptoms with a near two-hour recovery. A friend of mine had the exact symptoms when standing near a tower even for a few minutes. Computer screens caused pain in the eyes and in general tiredness. My cell phone would sometimes cause an electric current to run through my hand and wrist. Other general symptoms were chronic crippling insomnia, "exploding head syndrome," eye pain and light sensitivity at night, and feeling electrical currents running throughout the body. This was especially noticeable with the deployment of 5G in my city which was 2021; I lost my sense of smell that year. One of the symptoms of radiation exposure is the loss of smell, as well as the other symptoms I listed. I mitigated most of these symptoms by sleeping in a faraday tent, limiting cell phone use, and avoiding cell towers. I tested the tent with a meter and it registered the safe sleep guidelines of the Building Biology Institute; my cell phone did not receive and send any texts or calls. The first night in it, I slept the entire night. The exploding head, electrical currents and pain behind the eyes ended. Sleeping in the tent gave my body a break from RF/MW radiation exposure from towers, phones, satellites, smart meters and smart devices. Blue blocking glasses helped eliminate the tired eyes and pain from computer use. I support HHS taking an active role in examining the health and environmental effects of wireless radiation. Questions about human health should be addressed by federal agencies with appropriate expertise in medicine, biology, epidemiology, and public health, and the experiences of individuals and families who report being affected should be considered alongside the scientific evidence. My group, Stop 5G Jax, spoke to our city council here in Jacksonville, Florida. We were not heard because we were told we could not talk about health. We were also told, "This is coming out of Tallahassee." Our basic rights as citizens to protect our health and propterty were ignored. The city's cell tower ordinance/guidelines was already in place with consideration for the industry in placement and number of towers, but not in regard to the citizens, as we had limited input. None of these applications had radio antennas with which to calculate the effective radiated power (ERP), so there was not way to know what amount of radiation one would receive, however these towers were all placed within the city, some right in from of people's homes! And there are currently at least 10,000 studes showing harm, industry and independent studies. I urge HHS to carefully evaluate these experiences and the scientific evidence, identify gaps in current research, give particular attention to children and other potentially vulnerable populations, and establish appropriate federal research priorities regarding wireless radiation and public health. Thank you for the opportunity to be heard on this critical public health issue.
