Our family’s personal experience with EMFs has been deeply concerning, and we want our experiences to be heard. I personally experience what feels like physical effects when we are near certain cell towers. As we drive by, I sometimes feel symptoms that I associate with the towers, and when stopped at traffic lights near equipment mounted on utility poles, I experience pain. Living in an area where this infrastructure continues to expand has made daily life increasingly difficult for me. My family has also had a very difficult experience involving my son. We traveled out of state to tour a college, and after 5G equipment was added to the area, he became extremely ill while he was there. He could barely go outside without turning pale and feeling terribly sick. He only lasted a few days before we had to bring him home, resulting in the unexpected expense of moving him and his belongings all the way back. I also experience a burning sensation in my hands when holding a cell phone. While my children were in school, they experienced severe migraines in classrooms where Wi-Fi routers were located directly inside the classrooms. After additional signal boosters were installed, we felt their symptoms became even worse. These experiences have affected our family’s daily lives, education, finances, and overall well-being. We understand that individual experiences do not, by themselves, establish the cause of symptoms, but we believe they deserve to be heard and taken seriously. We are asking for greater transparency, careful investigation, independent research, and consideration of the people who report experiencing symptoms in areas where wireless infrastructure is expanding. Communities deserve access to clear information about these installations, the opportunity to voice concerns, and meaningful consideration of their experiences before more equipment is added. Our family should not have to feel that we must choose between participating in modern life and feeling well in our own community. Please listen to the people who are raising these concerns.
