Submits advocacy wording supporting HHS research and vulnerable groups with the personalization instructi…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am submitting this comment in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure. I am responding from the perspective of a [patient, parent, family member, caregiver, healthcare professional, researcher, advocate, concerned member of the public, or other]. PERSONALIZE YOUR COMMENT HERE: Tell HHS how wireless radiation has affected you, your child, your family, or someone you care about. You may describe the source and duration of the exposure, health effects experienced, when they began, whether reducing exposure made a difference, and how these experiences have affected daily life. If you are an ally, describe why you support people affected by wireless radiation and why you believe HHS should address this issue. I support HHS taking an active role in examining the potential health and environmental effects of wireless radiation. Questions about human health should be addressed by federal agencies with appropriate expertise in medicine, biology, epidemiology, and public health, and the experiences of individuals and families who report being affected should be considered alongside the scientific evidence. I urge HHS to carefully evaluate these experiences and the scientific evidence, identify gaps in current research, give particular attention to children and other potentially vulnerable populations, and establish appropriate federal research priorities regarding wireless radiation and public health. Thank you for providing individuals and families with an opportunity to be heard.

Reports extensive household symptoms after a tower installation, perceived high readings and improvement …

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am submitting this comment in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure. After the installation of a 5G cell tower in November 2021, constant high levels of microwave radiation began hitting my sleeping area through my bedroom window. As a result, my husband and I became very injured and sickly, experiencing the following non-exhaustive list of symptoms over an 18-month period: Sleep disturbances • Insomnia • Chronic fatigue • Never feeling refreshed Mood disturbances • Depression • Sadness • Irritability • Rage Vision problems • Blurry vision • Dry eyes • Floaters • Vision loss • Eye twitching • Sensitivity to light Neurological problems • Memory loss • Brain fog • Dizziness • Feeling disoriented • Saying the wrong words • Dropping things Heart problems • Palpitations • Chest pain • High blood pressure Hearing issues • Ringing in the ears • Hearing loss Physical pain • Sharp pain in ears • Joint and muscle pain • Leg cramping • Headaches • Burning and stabbing pain Hormonal issues • Hair loss • Thyroid enlargement • Thyroid nodule • Reproductive issues Metabolic issues • Weight gain • Inability to lose weight • Excessive weight loss Irregular temperature regulation • Getting overheated • Excessive sweating • Facial flushing Other • Teeth grinding • Hand tremors • Urinary issues • Aggressive nosebleeds • Trouble breathing • Coughing • Coughing up blood • Nausea • Dry heaving Based on MyChart data dating back to 2007, I went from an average of 2.5 doctor's visits per year to 22 doctor's visits within 18 months. The above list of ailments was generated from our doctors’ records during this time. During the 18 months of pain and sickness, we thought the air quality or pollution were responsible for how terrible we felt. Then, on a whim, I ordered an RF/Microwave radiation scanner, which led us to the source of our affliction. A thorough scan revealed radiation levels so high that the scanner could not register them (the meter’s maximum reading was 20,000 microwatts per meter squared). The readings came from a cell tower about 1.5 blocks away, which emitted a direct beam of radiation into our bedroom window, exposing us nightly to continuous microwave radiation. Upon discovering this, we blocked the radiation from coming into our window, which brought the signal down to almost nothing, almost eliminating the levels where we slept. That night, I experienced my first night of solid 8 straight hours of sleep in over a year. That was the first night that neither of us woke up repeatedly to use the restroom. Following this was the first morning in over a year that my husband was able to get out of bed without excruciating joint pain. That was the first night that our bodies began to heal. Since removing ourselves from this harmful environment 2 years ago, nearly all our symptoms have disappeared. I have returned to my previous rate of 2.5 doctor’s visits per year. All that remains for me is a shrinking thyroid nodule and a sensitivity to RF/microwave radiation exposure that yields unpleasant to unbearable physical reactions. The entire experience, including its aftermath, has been extremely difficult, scary, and sad for my family. It took two years to recover emotionally and find the strength to share my story. Although I hate telling people about this, I do so out of love, because I don’t want anyone to go through what happened to us.

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am submitting this comment in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure. I am responding from the perspective of a concerned member of the public and as one who is negatively affected by man-made electromagnetic radiation. I personally suffer from tinnitus and severe vertigo. When I was living in a city with smart meters, cell towers, neighbors wi-fi, etc. my symptoms were becoming more severe as time went by. About 2 years, ago we moved to an acreage where the emf levels are low the great majority of the time and since we have moved here I have not had any more vertigo attacks. In my opinion, man-made electromagnetic radiation is the latest, greatest environmental pollutant and it has become ubiquitous in our present world. Many people as well as all life in the environment is negatively affected, as we have evolved to function in the natural electromagnetic environment.

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I'm a chiropractor. A while back a couple I had been treating started devloping odd symptoms that did not fit their previous patterns. A huge cell tower had been put up about a hundred yeards from their house. I begged them to move but it kept being put off. She developed atrial tribulation and he died of multiple myeloma. PLUS – each neighbor next to them died of cancer along with their dogs, also of cancer. I commonly see insomnia, headaches and agitation with patients exposed to high wi-fi microwave radiation. I surmise that microwave radiation increases inflammation throughout the body and some people can handle it better than others depending upon many factors. Personally I have a meter to measure wi-fi and do not spend any time in high radiation. Consequently I am much less social than I used to be, not going to restaurants, concerts etc. The health effects of microwave radiation need to be QUANTIFIED!!!! so people can know and regulate what they are dealing with. The proliferation of microwave without adequate investigation is CRIMINAL!!! FCC and government malfeasance is KILLING people!

A parent raises children’s safety and environmental concerns, describes acquaintances’ migraines near tow…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
This comment is in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure. I am a parent and a concerned member of the public. I feel very worried about the affects of wireless radiation on our human biology and the biology of all living beings. I know so many people who are sensitive to EMF's, who have gotten migraines after a tower was installed nearby, etc. I am concerned that these things have not been properly tested for safety. As a parent, I don't feel that this is safe for my children. We all feel so much better when we are camping away from any cell service and I believe it is due to getting away from the wireless radiation. HHS must address this issue. They should examine the potential health and environmental effects of wireless radiation. Questions about human health should be addressed by federal agencies with appropriate expertise in medicine, biology, epidemiology, and public health, and the experiences of individuals and families who report being affected should be considered alongside the scientific evidence. I hope HHS will carefully evaluate these experiences and the scientific evidence, identify gaps in current research, give particular attention to children and other potentially vulnerable populations, and establish appropriate federal research priorities regarding wireless radiation and public health. Thank you for providing us with an opportunity to be heard.

A self-described physician reports neurological and gastric symptoms during a wireless-enabled festival a…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am a medical doctor, mother and health advocate, who is personally mal-effected by the wireless EMR. Two years ago, our city's Jazz Fest made it a wireless festival for every transaction for the first time. The fairgrounds of the festival are surrounded by adjacent cell towers near attendees and musical acts. Furthermore, the majority of the crowd had on wireless devices for purchases, tickets, recordings, and connecting. After two days of attending, I could no longer remember simple words. I had not consumed drugs or alcohol. Upon returning to our wired home, I could not quiet my nervous system. Although normally very coordinated, I flipped over the dog in the middle of the night and suffered a large head injury. In the roughly 35 previous years of attending this festival, afterwards I felt fine and healthy. Until the Jazz Fest protects its participators and musicians, I will not return. // We seek places to stay allowing unplugging of all wireless technology, so we can sleep. (The wireless devices stimulate the pineal gland and one cannot go into good circadian rhythms.) // Traveling in recently made vehicles and planes makes me have gastric and neurologic symptoms. A recent trip days ago, revealed extremely elevated readings of 2.1 million milliwatts / m 2 on the plane and 3.4 million milliwatts / m 2 at the terminal. (Normal or safe inside readings should be <10 milliwatts / m 2.) // Our city's downtown has a 5 G tower of every few blocks. Recently, a reading of 80,000 milliwatts / m 2 was what I measured across the street from a typical tower. I used to enjoy exploring our city's historical districts. Now, my paths are limited by the presences of towers, which again cause me gastric and neurologic issues. // My husband and I have noticed that when traveling through cities with an elevated highway through downtown with the extreme amount of towers, we are frequently very irritable. Again, we have changed our itinerary to avoid the cities and feel fine on routes without towers. // HHS needs to protect our country's citizens. As a medical doctor who studies the multiple studies of the breakdown of the blood brain barrier, blocking of the cell's many calcium channels, the interference of proper mitochondrial (the powerhouse of cells) function, unravelling of DNA, cancer, behavioral issues, etc. from the wireless, I recognize the effects and know how to protect myself and my family. Please, examine this industry with total transparency and meticulously, then make changes accordingly.

A retired telecom researcher advocates precautionary limits, balanced standards bodies, clinical reportin…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am a retired scientific researcher and strategy adviser having worked mainly in telecom R&D, industry and academia, living in Norway. Only late in my career, around 2010, I became aware of the abounding scientific research indicating health issues from cell phones and other RF-EMFs, as well as of tricks used to build a boolwark against such results. Since then, I have full time studied the scientific results and conveyed them to others, as I find the evidence overwhelming. On the way, I wrote books reviewing the science, translated books, and collected 150 selfreported descriptions of unhealth reactions experienced by electrohypersentive persons mainly from smartmeters, and from some other transmitting equipment. The stories include several in practice blind folded tests, and a wide range of so called "diffuse" acute symptoms, which vanish when away from the transmitting source. The 150 stories are included. (Publication consented.). However, listings of symptoms such as requested here and found in the 150 stories, do only register acute reactions, not long term effects from well documented impact on biosystems, e.g. DNA breaks or opening of the blood-brain-barrier. As unhealth from such effects is stochastic, multifactor and spread on a wide range of possible diagnoses, no valid conclusions can be drawn from registering acute symptoms. One must rely on huge epidemiological studies, realistic lab studies on basic mechanisms, and a precautionary approach. Therefore, as to relevant standards, the present standards from ICES/IIEEE and ICNIRP are irrelevant, as they only accept acute heat effects as proven, and set the recommended exposure maxima accordingly, only to protect against heat effects and demand presize measurements relevant for heat as causation. Such standards are unsuitable for protecting against (athermal) long term effects, and not precaucionary and have no predication value and therefore unusable for public radiation protection. Federal health agencies should in stead consider exposure standards based on experience cum science, and base standards on a precautionary approach. The best and most relevant such guideline and standard with recommended max exposure limits at present is: Belyaev I, Dean A, Eger H, Hubmann G, Jandrisovits R, Kern M, Kundi M, Moshammer H, Lercher P, Müller K, Oberfeld G, Ohnsorge P, Pelzmann P, Scheingraber C, Thill R. EUROPAEM EMF Guideline 2016 for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of EMF-related health problems and illnesses. Rev Environ Health. 2016 Sep 1;31(3):363-97. doi: 10.1515/reveh-2016-0011. PMID: 27454111. What would improve the assessment, disclosure, and regulation of wireless radiation exposure the most, would be to get the bodies shaping the norms have a balanced representation of industry, independent researchers and government - not only industry and/or personell accepting to work on the premises that heat only effects is all there is to protect, and neglecting all other effects, although very well proven (or even probable only). To include taking advice from the ICBE-EMF (The International Commission on the Biological Effects of Electromagnetic Fields) would be such an important step in the right direction. A very efficient step to develop, test, and evaluate the effectiveness of procedures and techniques for minimizing exposure to electronic product radiation, would be to establish a lab test site and approval system based on measuring oxidative stress in cells from microwave exposure. (This can easily and cost-effectively and fast be measured by standard equipment. Ask prof. em. Martin L Pall for further advice for set up of such a lab.) As effects from RF-EMF are in part acute, in part long term and just one of several vectors, trying to list the risk picture per item is a futile exercise and disturbs real risk assessments. In stead, to Measure Human Exposure and Public Health Surveillance, MDs should start registering and reporting suspected cases of EMF-caused unhealth. Any radiation protection strategy must be based on standard environmental medicine / toxicology procedures as to already present toxic matters: i.e. based on precaution and with a low, not an extremely high, demand for proof as at present, and not demanding sigle factorial proofs.
