In the summer of 2023, August 23 to be exact, I had my first episode of dizziness. I just chalked it up to lack of food, water and working all day in the heat. The following week I continued to get extremely dizzy. At that point I had no idea what was causing me to get dizzy because I made sure I was drinking plenty of water, eating and staying out of the heat. A week later while riding as a passenger in our truck I suddenly got dizzy out of nowhere. The episode came on with a vengeance. I felt like I had to throw up along with having heart palpitations. Even closing my eyes didn’t help as it did prior to this. We were about an hour and a half away from home at this point when the episode happened. I was unsure of how I would deal with the way I was feeling for that amount of time. I actually came up with the idea to cover my entire head with a black towel we always carry in our truck because we have dogs that sometimes make a mess. For some reason that seemed to work. I rode home with a black towel over my head for over an hour. Once we arrived home I took the towel off of my head. I was still very dizzy. My husband had to carry me into the house because I was unable to walk. He put me in bed. I was never able to go to sleep because even closing my eyes in a dark room didn’t relieve the dizzy feeling. After a few hours of laying in bed, the dizziness finally let up. That was around 7:30 pm. This episode lasted about 6.5 hours. I was absolutely exhausted. Including the next day.
After that experience I would have daily episodes but not like what I explained previously. Fast forward to November 23, 2023, Thanksgiving Day, exactly 3 months from my first episode I had a major episode. So major I felt like I needed to go to the hospital. My heart was pounding so hard and so fast I felt like it was going to come out of my chest. Definitely more than a palpitation. I thought I might be having a heart attack. The dizziness felt like I was on a Merry-Go-Round out of control. No matter what I tried it didn’t seem to help. I felt like I was going to throw up but never did. My husband called 911 because I asked him too. They came, took my vitals and said everything was normal. They didn’t feel that it was necessary for me to go to the hospital but took me anyway because I thought it would be better to be checked out more thoroughly. I did go and of course all they could tell me was I had Vertigo. They gave me the equivalent of Dramamine and sent me on my way. I’m not one to rush off to the doctor for things. I try to figure it out myself. So for me to make the decision to go to the Emergency Room was HUGE!
I decided I needed to find out what was going on so I contacted my Naturopath. She asked that I see an ENT Specialist before she proceeded with me. Long story short, I did see an ENT and all that was found is that I had Vertigo. After the findings of the ENT I contacted my Naturopath again. She started me on a liver detox. It didn’t work. I pretty much gave up on figuring out what was going on. For months I suffered with what I called bobble head doll syndrome. In my head it felt like it was bobbling all of the time and maybe once a week I’d have a dizzy spell here and there. Not a great way to live. You can’t trust yourself. I was in fear of driving for fear of a dizzy spell coming on at any time. I started to lose my independence because I had to depend on my husband to drive me around. In my opinion I was/am too young to be in this type of situation.
Fast forward again, to end of the month in December 2024, I was scrolling through my Telegram channels. It is a channel that gives healthful living tips. This particular post I paid attention to was regarding radiation toxicity. It said if you have these symptoms, one of them being dizziness another being heart palpitations (I don’t remember the other symptoms that were listed) you need to take 8 drops of iodine daily. I had been taking 3 drops a day before seeing this so I was a bit skeptical but tried it. So glad I did because once I started taking the 8 drops of iodine the bobble head doll feeling and dizziness went away.
One thing I should mention is I am typically healthy. I’m 65 years young. I’m not on any medications and never have been. I thank God for that. I’m also thankful that a I was able to figure out what was going on with my body. I believe God sent me that post on Telegram. I can’t imagine living my life the way I felt for over a year. It was taking a toll on my metal health, physical health and also my personal relationships.
