Complete mitochondrial genome of marine wood borer E. P. Wright, 1866 (Bivalvia: Teredinidae) from Beihai, Guangxi, China.
Abstract
We report the first complete mitochondrial genome of the marine wood borer from Beihai, China. The genome is 17,158 bp long, containing 12 protein-coding genes, 22 transfer RNAs, and 2 ribosomal RNAs. The nucleotide composition is 40.7% T, 12.1% C, 21.8% A, and 25.5% G. Phylogenetic analysis indicates that the Beihai specimen clusters with conspecifics from Hainan, China, distinct from the Philippine population. This study provides valuable genomic resources for future research on .

Main findings
The study reports the first complete mitochondrial genome for a marine wood borer specimen from Beihai, China (17,158 bp; 12 protein-coding genes, 22 tRNAs, 2 rRNAs) and provides nucleotide composition. Phylogenetic analysis indicates the Beihai specimen clusters with conspecifics from Hainan, China, and is distinct from the Philippine population.
Outcomes measured
- Complete mitochondrial genome characterization (genome length, gene content, nucleotide composition)
- Phylogenetic clustering relative to conspecifics from Hainan (China) and the Philippines
