I can say for certain that in the presence of emf it affects my hearing and the way my skin feels. Much like a blood pressure episode can cause skin tingles. 

Once I spaced my self from them and used elements to ground myself while I sleep my puffy skins spots stopped and I felt less tingles. 

I don't know the long term effects but if short term can cause this I really think we need to examine and research what it does and how to best design infrastructure to mitigate harmful effects while being able to use these new technologies and that is easier now than later when they are more prevalent in the world around us than they already are.
