They make gauging the speed of oncoming traffic more difficult to assess.\n\nBigger vehicles with these lights are also set high enough that their headlights shine directly into a regular car's windshield, and automatic systems are no help for that. The automatic systems require light from other sources in order to dim themselves, so if the other car has normal headlights the systems are useless.\n\nThese are not a problem on white headlights without the blue frequency, and yellow headlights are even better.
