{"id":"HHS-OASH-2026-0397-5253","number":"5253","name":"Anonymous Anonymous","organization":"","posted":"2026-10-27T04:00Z","received":"2026-10-21T04:00Z","body":"I am submitting this comment in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure. I am responding as an individual with part of my experience with EMF damaging my health. I noticed over 20 years ago with my flip phone that when I put it up to my head, I got a headache, my head felt hot on the side of the phone and my arm and hand tingled and would sometimes go numb using it. Those feelings only got worse each time I got a new phone. I was told that it was my imagination, but it was not. This only happened when using a cell phone, and eventually a cordless phone, not when using a landline phone. My health issues increased over the years impacted by increased exposure to wifi, cell phones, cordless phones, 5G, Bluetooth and smart meters. \nAround 8 years ago when a smart meter was placed on my home without our permission my health deteriorated rapidly. I began having headaches, I would feel dizzy, nauseous and felt like I would faint when I was in the room closest to the meter. It was on the wall closest to my bedroom and I could not sleep there anymore. I had to move to the bedroom in the basement as far away as possible. I had heart palpitations, became nauseous in the house but would feel better outside away from the meter, wifi and phones. I became extra sensitive to any type of electric system. I couldn’t watch a movie, go to restaurants or use cordless phones. These are just a few of the symptoms I had. It affected nearly every system in my body including my memory and moods. We had to pay to get the smart meter moved. We should have had a choice to get it removed completely and replaced with the old analog meter because of the severe effect it had on my health. That was refused. \nExposure to EMF has changed my life and health forever as I have not been able to fully recover. I can’t travel very many places because there’s no place for me to stay that doesn’t have wifi, cell phones, cell towers, 5G and smart meters. We removed wifi from our home, got rid of any cordless phones, turned off cell phones and paid to move the smart meter to a pole out by the road since they refused to put the old one back on. By doing these things I was able to recover enough to be in my home and go out to other areas like the store and to church. But when people come into my home or I am surrounded in the store and at church by wifi and cell phones I start to feel sicker again with headaches, eye problems, pain, fatigue, etc. When I am able to get out of that environment those symptoms are greatly diminished. It’s difficult to get completely away from these because we are surrounded by EMF by no choice of our own. I feel best outside away from any type of EMF but unfortunately finding space where there is none is getting more difficult all the time. I may soon be searching for another place to live because there is possibly going to be a neighborhood put in on the land close to my home. I will not be able to survive being completely surrounded by all the EMF that will bring.  \nAs I have been researching this issue, I find there are hundreds, if not thousands of studies that show the harmful effect of EMF. Please take these studies and concerns seriously before even more people are harmed with their health and lives altered forever.
