I believe we deserve a better understanding of the cumulative effects of exposure from cell towers, Wi-Fi networks, smart devices, and other sources of radiofrequency radiation.\n\nOur daily exposure to wireless technology has changed dramatically over the past several decades, yet important questions remain about long-term health outcomes, cumulative exposure, and whether existing regulatory standards adequately account for potentially vulnerable populations.\n\nI urge HHS and the FCC to prioritize independent, transparent, and publicly funded research examining the potential biological and neurological effects of chronic radiofrequency exposure. Research should specifically consider children, individuals with preexisting health conditions, and the effects of multiple simultaneous sources of exposure.\n\nI also encourage federal agencies to reevaluate existing exposure standards in light of current technologies and emerging scientific evidence, improve public transparency, and consider reasonable precautionary measures while scientific uncertainties remain.\n\nTechnology and public health should not be competing priorities. We can embrace innovation while demanding rigorous scientific evaluation and meaningful safeguards.\n\nThe American public deserves clear information, independent research, and safety standards that reflect the realities of modern wireless exposure.","attachments":[],"attachment_inventory":true,"withheld":false,"source":"https://www.regulations.gov/comment/HHS-OASH-2026-0397-6728","tags":["child-development","exposure-places","policy-standards","research-evidence"],"source_hash":"3364fe36a82bf0142bcfa115ff4e1d2ed6c4b0d5826137ba0bff8f57bd4bbc5a","slug":"child-development-comment-6728","classification":{"id":"HHS-OASH-2026-0397-6728","body_sha256":"bffdc19e7d134459b366571e5028cb66f1bf732d38637b39c0745350dd86753b","status":"ai_reviewed","primary_topic":"research","topics":[{"id":"research","evidence":"independent, transparent, and publicly funded research"},{"id":"children","evidence":"children, individuals with preexisting health conditions"},{"id":"standards","evidence":"reevaluate existing exposure standards"}],"summary":"A commenter with a neurological condition requests independent research on chronic and combined RF exposures, attention to vulnerable populations, transparent standards review and reasonable precautions.","reviewed_at":"2026-10-28T23:54:32Z","review_method":"Full comment-text review with exact source evidence; attachments not reviewed","review_source_sha256":"77161781bf976c720e2e39261470889cf0b9a898101370bd8cb13216c1c61773","source_url":"https://rfsafe.net/hhs-comments/data/catalog.json","scope":"Original comment body; attachments excluded"},"forum_topics":["research","children","standards"],"primary_topic":"research","forum_title":"A commenter with a neurological condition requests independent research on chronic and combined RF exposu…"}
