HHS-OASH-2026-0397-6086 https://www.regulations.gov/comment/HHS-OASH-2026-0397-6086 I am submitting this comment in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure. I am responding from the perspective of a family member and myself concerned. My family and I believe that our health has been negatively affected by the radiofrequency radiation emitted from smart meters. Throughout a period of several months, we developed new and worsening symptoms, including unexplainable severe headaches, dizziness, fatigue, and anxiety. I began experiencing unexplained anxiety and shortness of breath, which led to an asthma diagnosis. During the same period, I also developed unexplained dizziness and tinnitus. Since medical professionals were unable to identify the underlying cause, I received a diagnosis of Meniere's syndrome. Additionally, I noticed that my breathing problems and dizziness became worse when I lay down in my bedroom. I found myself feeling anxious about going to bed. Furthermore, my spouse has been experiencing cardiac palpitations and continues to require ongoing medical supervision. At that time, it was difficult to understand why these symptoms showed slight improvement during our stay at my friend's place. Following an unexpected decline in health, we discovered that a smart meter had been installed on our house's exterior wall, positioned adjacent to our bedroom without our awareness or authorization. We made the request to revert to an analog meter, the utility company declined to make the change due to their established policy and only offered us the option to opt out of the digital system. Opting out of a smart meter, covering the wall and window with some anti-radiation shields, and moving out of the bedroom provided some improvement in our symptoms. The intense dizziness, breathing complications, and anxiety feelings gradually diminished. Despite these considerations, the radiation from smart meters—which is similar to radiation from other wireless devices, wireless transmission systems, and other infrastructure we cannot control—still has a big impact on our daily lives. We believe that radiofrequency radiation weaknes immune system function, subsequently leading to physical decline, reduced overall health, and the potential development of chronic conditions. My spouse and I both still experience chronic headaches, sleep disruption, fatigue, continuous tinnitus, worsening allergic reactions including asthma and respiratory difficulties . Following maxillofacial surgery, I had a titanium mesh implanted many years ago. I had no issues before a smart meter was put on our house wall. We believe that following RF exposure, I developed maxillofacial sinus complications," Circumferential mucosal thickening of the right maxillary sinus with a central nodular thickening with a coarse calcification suggestive of a mycetoma" that necessitated surgical treatment. After that, since doctors haven't been able to find the cause of the pain, we believe that exposure to RF radiation may be contributing to the persistent pain I still experience in the side of my face where the titanium mesh is located, which occasionally becomes quite severe, radiating to the head.  Furthermore, as a person who is very sensitive, I have seen more problems with electrical sensitivity and unusual skin feelings. Even though I only wear clothes made from natural materials and have eliminated all plastic from my home environment, these issues continue to happen. We believe there are significantly more individuals like us who have experienced regular exposure to radiofrequency radiation in their daily lives and subsequently experienced health deterioration. We strongly believe that daily exposure to wireless radiation is contributing to the acceleration of health problems across all populations. We encourage you to explore the available evidence and research on this important matter. My family and I support HHS taking an active role in examining the potential health and environmental effects of wireless radiation. Questions about human health should be addressed by federal agencies with appropriate expertise in medicine, biology, epidemiology, and public health, and the experiences of individuals and families who report being affected should be considered alongside the scientific evidence. My family and I urge HHS to carefully evaluate these experiences and the scientific evidence, identify gaps in current research, give particular attention to children and other potentially vulnerable populations, and establish appropriate federal research priorities regarding wireless radiation and public health. Thank you for providing individuals and families with an opportunity to be heard.
