As wireless technologies—including cell phones, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth devices, smartwatches, and other connected technologies—have become increasingly integrated into everyday life, people are being exposed to radio frequency electromagnetic fields (RF-EMF) for longer periods and across multiple sources, often unaware of these exposures. There is currently no research that establishes whether typical wireless exposure causes specific health conditions. Therefore, questions remain about the potential effects of chronic, cumulative, and long-term exposure, particularly at lower intensities and among children and other potentially vulnerable populations. Research should therefore examine not only short-term effects but also long-term biological impacts, including possible effects on sleep, neurological function, reproductive health, cellular processes, and overall well-being. Independent research free from industry influence is especially important so that public health recommendations and safety standards are based on the strongest available evidence and can be updated as technology and scientific understanding evolve.","attachments":[],"attachment_inventory":true,"withheld":false,"source":"https://www.regulations.gov/comment/HHS-OASH-2026-0397-1214","tags":["child-development","sleep-cognition","biology-metabolism","exposure-places","policy-standards","research-evidence"],"source_hash":"46abab39907360f223bb66fd41f9f2d1dc490c7d5954e5f26fe0531e50023265","slug":"child-development-comment-1214","classification":{"id":"HHS-OASH-2026-0397-1214","body_sha256":"efc4f6fd7045e835e36ca77589b0726fbc46ba4a1c7d99730c5e33f155d426dd","status":"ai_reviewed","primary_topic":"research","topics":[{"id":"research","evidence":"ure to wireless radiation deserve continued, independent, and comprehensive scientific research.
