I was a mother desperate for answers. I knocked on doors, contacted attorneys, and worked alongside another mother to bring attention to our concerns. Eventually, the cell tower was removed.\n\nWhile I cannot scientifically prove that wireless radiation caused my child’s cancer, I believe our experience raises questions that deserve serious investigation.\n\nNo parent should have to fight as hard as we did just to have concerns about their children’s health taken seriously.\n\nI urge federal agencies to conduct independent, transparent research into long-term radiofrequency radiation exposure, especially around schools and developing children. Parents deserve access to reliable information, meaningful oversight, and accountability.\n\nWe should not have to wait until more children become sick to investigate potential environmental risks.\n\nMy child survived cancer, but the experience forever changed our family. I am sharing our story because every child deserves to learn, grow, and play in an environment where their health is a priority.\n\nRespectfully,\n\nRipon, California\nMother of a Childhood Cancer Survivor","attachments":[],"attachment_inventory":true,"withheld":false,"source":"https://www.regulations.gov/comment/HHS-OASH-2026-0397-5679","tags":["cancer-tumors","child-development","exposure-places","research-evidence"],"source_hash":"775be6cc644ebcad4073e3782c04a7faabedff6219cbd583b1d85279122922fc","slug":"cancer-tumors-comment-5679","classification":{"id":"HHS-OASH-2026-0397-5679","body_sha256":"a96a41368b0272ba1ab55248d7a66426d17f89f3ff7138d8f6a2c659de4ac84f","status":"ai_reviewed","primary_topic":"cancer","topics":[{"id":"cancer","evidence":"whose child was the first diagnosed with cancer"},{"id":"children","evidence":"especially around schools and developing children."},{"id":"infrastructure","evidence":"Eventually, the cell tower was removed."},{"id":"research","evidence":"I urge federal agencies to conduct independent, transparent research into long-term radiofrequency radiation exposure"}],"summary":"A parent describes a child’s cancer diagnosis near a school tower, other childhood diagnoses and efforts that preceded the tower’s removal.
