{"id":"HHS-OASH-2026-0397-2880","number":"2880","name":"Alison Amster","organization":"","posted":"2026-10-14T04:00Z","received":"2026-10-11T04:00Z","body":"I am a mother of four children, and our family moved into our home on October 1, 2025, approximately 0.2 miles (1,056 feet) from an active cell tower.\n\nSince moving here, we have noticed a significant worsening of health concerns within our household, including severe brain fog, frequent migraines, insomnia, difficulty concentrating, and emotional and behavioral dysregulation in our children.\n\nOne of my daughters also has a serious autoimmune condition involving multiple relapses, hospitalizations, and extensive medical treatment. I worry about whether prolonged environmental exposure could be affecting her health or contributing to immune dysregulation.\n\nBeyond our current symptoms, I am deeply concerned about the potential long-term health consequences of continuous RF/EMF exposure, particularly cancer risk, neurological development, reproductive health, immune function, and the cumulative effects of exposure beginning in childhood.\n\nI recognize that there is no established causal connection between the nearby tower and our family’s health concerns, nor do we have evidence of cancer related to this exposure. However, the changes we have observed since moving here, combined with the uncertainty surrounding some long-term health outcomes, make me believe further investigation is important.\n\nI urge HHS to prioritize independent, long-term studies of residential exposure near cell towers, including cancer incidence, neurological and cognitive health, sleep disturbances, reproductive health, and autoimmune conditions. Families deserve transparent exposure measurements, continued evaluation of safety standards, and research that follows children over many years.","attachments":[],"attachment_inventory":true,"withheld":false,"source":"https://www.regulations.gov/comment/HHS-OASH-2026-0397-2880","tags":["cancer-tumors","child-development","health-experiences","sleep-cognition","biology-metabolism","exposure-places","policy-standards","research-evidence"],"source_hash":"0a44acba4ec2e4336672642ad0932e5d24972ad770abfc46e88725035fa1b0ac","slug":"cancer-tumors-comment-2880","classification":{"id":"HHS-OASH-2026-0397-2880","body_sha256":"79d468b163a100cbdd858429a75d83c239b0ce1a9b271f3fc9823315ad432e11","status":"ai_reviewed","primary_topic":"infrastructure","topics":[{"id":"infrastructure","evidence":"y 0.2 miles (1,056 feet) from an active cell tower.\n\nSince moving here, we have noticed a significant worsenin"},{"id":"children","evidence":"I am a mother of four children, and our family moved into our home on October 1, 2025, app"},{"id":"neurological","evidence":"d, including severe brain fog, frequent migraines, insomnia, difficulty concentrating, and emotional and beha"},{"id":"cancer","evidence":"ontinuous RF/EMF exposure, particularly cancer risk, neurological development, reproductive health, immune"},{"id":"reproductive","evidence":" cancer risk, neurological development, reproductive health, immune function, and the cumulative effects of expo"},{"id":"research","evidence":"\n\nI urge HHS to prioritize independent, long-term studies of residential exposure near cell towers, including cancer "},{"id":"standards","evidence":"e measurements, continued evaluation of safety standards, and research that follows children over many years."}],"summary":"Reports family symptoms after moving near a tower, explicitly acknowledges that causation is unestablished, and requests long-term studies of childhood, cancer, neurological, reproductive and autoimmune outcomes.","reviewed_at":"2026-10-15T03:51:16Z","review_method":"Source-based AI review of complete published comment bodies; exact topic evidence; attachments and external links not reviewed.","review_source_sha256":"df951fdc97d7adfb7097155d406115e111d0a4b70c06ad1ff3669ce182c93af9","source_url":"https://rfsafe.net/hhs-comments/data/catalog.json","scope":"Original comment body; attachments excluded"},"forum_topics":["infrastructure","children","neurological","cancer","reproductive","research","standards"],"primary_topic":"infrastructure","forum_title":"Reports family symptoms after moving near a tower, explicitly acknowledges that causation is unestablishe…"}
